Quarantine restrictions could not stop the auction life in 2020. Of course, the traditional format has undergone significant changes: virtual platforms and participant offices were created, and the events were held online. Despite all these difficulties, auction houses still managed to adapt to work in new conditions and to please participants with exclusive lots.
The beginning of the new millennium was marked by radical changes in the contemporary art market. The realization that global civilization has entered a new period of its development has affected the assessment of the value of paintings and statues, which were previously considered nothing more than the result of strange creative experiments. Contemporary art began competing with the classical era's masterpieces, rapidly adding the number of zeros on the price tag. On the other hand, we can observe a radical change in traditional formats of auctions, exhibitions, and other events due to the development of information technology and forced isolation during the pandemic. The art market is changing rapidly, raising many questions about its future.
Gender issues permeate all spheres of our lives. We face it at work, at home, and during leisure. Until the beginning of the twentieth century, the division of social roles by gender was considered normal almost all over the globe. Still, this aspect of society was revised after the start of globalization. As part of the struggle for gender equality, the study of gender stereotypes in art began. For thousands of years, everyone understood that the creativity of men and women is evaluated differently, but only now is there an opportunity to substantiate the injustice of prejudice and begin the gradual emancipation of art.
In the early 90s of the twentieth century, Ukrainian fine art received a powerful impetus for development. Artists could travel freely to other countries, study contemporary art and realize their potential. Together with the fall of the Iron Curtain, ideological dictates and a cumbersome system of state regulation of culture fell into oblivion. In such conditions, a new generation of masters was born, open to the world and accessible in their creative pursuits. Contemporary art tries to bypass material limitations by shifting the emphasis from forms of expression to meaning. This leads to the blurring of the boundaries between art and non-art, as well as the loss of the inexperienced viewer's ability to understand why this or that work costs millions of dollars. Blockchain technology opens new horizons for us. With its help, art has overcome the limitations of physical reality and begun to conquer virtual space.
A modular painting is a group of paintings united by a common concept and composition. They can be fastened together or be separate works with their microplots. "Modular paintings" is used in fine art and design. Because of this, there often needs to be more clarity with conceptual definitions. In design, the work's artistic value plays a secondary role, giving way to such characteristics as color and shape. Dividing the space of the canvas into several parts performs practical tasks: fragmentation makes it possible to organically integrate the canvas into the interior, coordinating its shape with the decorative elements and furniture surrounding it. Without paying much attention to the artistic value of the canvas, designers often call "modular paintings" ordinary photo prints or other reproductions.
It is no secret that most artistic trends were born in the West. At the same time, the rest of the civilized world perceived the accumulated experience and adapted it to their worldview aspirations. It is not about the talent of the masters but about their inclusion in the rhythms of cultural life, about their ability to foresee and create images of the future. Despite this, artists from countries that adopt the experience of the West have always had a massive space for self-realization and going beyond the established canons. Their bold experiments and original painting style gave their works a unique value.

This effect is achieved today thanks to special events and the use of innovative technologies that affect our analyzers. Initially, device developers sought to improve the quality of immersion in order to more deeply immerse users in the gaming reality, but over time, their achievements were adapted for art lovers. Under the conditions of quarantine and possible bans on visiting public places in the future, this area of work becomes a priority for all participants in the art market.
The Georges Pompidou Center in the Spanish city of Malaga has become the first foreign branch of the Parisian center of the same name in the Beaubourg quarter. For 5 years, exhibitions dedicated to various areas of contemporary art were held within the walls of the institution. During this time, the center has managed to become one of the most popular art spaces in Malaga and attract over a million visitors from all over the world. The activities of the institution are financed from the city budget as part of a partnership program launched back in 2013
