Genre works of Volodymyr Ivanov have a philosophical, mythological sound. And for the discovery of global themes of the universe, the artist resorts to courageous receptions, invites the viewer to join the unrestrained flight of fantasy.
The artist brings other cosmic laws, the other nature of things into the tangible, habitual material world of his paintings. Incompatible things, opposite states are paradoxically combined - the power and destructive element of nature, and the complete calm of human figures, as, for example, in the paintings "On the River", "Yellow Water". The artist creates a contrast between the statics and the dynamics, which already makes a fascinating action on the canvas.
Volodymyr Ivanov selects natural shades when depicting a naked body so that nature looks photometrically realistic. He also realistically depicts the element of water, then swirling in a whirlpool, or a solid wall falling from above. The mastery of the artist is indisputable. He easily solves the super-tasks in transferring the motion of both dense masses and lungs of fiery elements.
Sometimes Volodymyr Ivanov uses watercolor techniques - large textured fillings, overflow of paint, as in the painting "On the River", which makes the world of his canvases even more amazing, incomprehensible.
