About myself and my artworks

All my paintings are parts of one great story of simple life on the Earth under the Great Sun. The Sun which gives gentle warmth to everyone who lives under it - people, animals and plants, to everyone who lives in harmony in the World of justice and goodness, in the World where angels bring spring or powder the Earth with white snow...

Every day facing the aggression of the modern outside world, I create my works of the gentle World under the Great Sun even more persistently.

I hope my paintings will find affection in people's souls, calm and warm people's hearts. I hope my paintings will inspire people to live, just live and see this wonderful World around us!

KyivGallery Art Critic Art critic's review 29/10/2018

The joy of life, eternal human values and the charm of the Ukrainian village is celebrated in artworks of Kyiv artist Oksana Zbrutska. Her artworks are children dreams with huge flowers, bizarre animals and gentle angels. This is a world where the sky meets the earth, united into one whole in the circles of human existence. A kaleidoscope of images from the life of a lost patriarchal Ukraine: holidays, entertainment, romantic scenes and idyllic landscapes.

After the education at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Oksana found her individual technique, creating the author's style of painting, called "ethno-romanticism." "As much as I can remember, I have been painting. I am in love with Podil landscapes. These landscapes are repeated in almost all my paintings: a quiet stretch, a hill, a hut. This is my heaven on earth," the artist says of her artworks. Her artworks are cheerful and optimistic, colorful and dynamic. In them, the whole space as if vibrates, filled with textured motley strokes, and intertwines into a single intricate pattern.

The paintings of Oksana Zbrutska literally breathe national color and ethnicity. A Ukrainian song seems to flow out of them, which captivates the soul and raises it to the very sky. The desire of the author is to convey to the viewer a bright, original beauty, Ukrainian authentic lyricism and gentleness, which is difficult to see today in the man-made whirlwind of urbanization. But the artist succeeds. Her artworks awaken the genetic memory, revive the love to a small country and provide an opportunity to understand that we do not gain every day, but lose.
