Surrealism of Ihor Tokaruk has its own well-timed graphics, its rhythm, a harmonious logical visual series. All paintings of the artist are filled with philosophical overtones, they force the viewer to actively join the process of contemplation and analysis, bewitching and taking him deeper.

And there is an explanation for this - smooth lines, repetitive rhythm, a special aesthetic laconicism, where each element is thoughtful, in its place and self-sufficient in its completeness. It is possible to consider small details for a long time, tracing the logical chain of their development in the context of the picture. The color scheme in each work is rather conditional, - these are two or three colors with their many gradations and shades. The artist focuses on the texture of objects, on their visual materiality.

Balance on the verge of conventionality and the real world can be traced in all the paintings of Ihor Tokaruk: "Bridge" without continuation, connecting the two peaks; conditional "Gate" leading to the world of a mirage among the desert; "Mirror" connecting the two realities and other images. The author introduces us to the parallel mysterious world, where there is no logic and rationalism, but there is a depth of peace and a radiance of color.

Also Ihor Tokaruk works a lot on portraits of both contemporaries and historical figures. Its main theme - Hutsul holidays, the celebration of the specifics of the Hutsul world.
