Melnyk Ihor
The paintings of the artist Ihor Melnyk are an example of the constant creative search and unleashing the potential of various techniques. Forms that are created by the artist combine expressive form and strong, sometimes contrasting color images. Actually, thanks to this, the reflection of the richness of the pictorial language dominates in paintings, where there are melodic intonations and complex visual polyphony.
Totem. Storks (10)
The series is dedicated to storks - birds that are the personification of national mentality and spirituality. Visual myth about being and the symbol of the soul. My totem is humanity and eternal values. Perhaps that is why the stork is associated with the image of the nationality and Ukrainians. It is a bird that lives next to people, a bird, as if reflecting us and our society, our essential nature and inner way
March cats (12)
The Burnt Cats series was created during the second coronavirus lockdown in the spring of 2022. The first warm rays of the sun warm with warmth and everything around wakes up. We take off our warm clothes and expose our bodies, and it inspires. The purring of cats and their meows, fights under the windows of the skylight - this is Spring.
from the Holiday 2022 series (20)
Paintings from the Holiday 2022 series are made on cardboard with oil and acrylic paints. Pictures about what was taken from us during the occupation and the war in Ukraine, our cities, villages, our everyday affairs, recreation for children and adults. It was necessary for everyone to reformat and reevaluate their preferences.

On the canvases of Ihor Melnyk, a tangible deep understanding of the specifics of painting as a universal technique that can be effectively used to display the idea of a form. However, inspirations, which are found not only at the plot level, but also at the formative level, do not acquire the features of repetition, but the author's comprehension. Accordingly, each artwork of the author is a good example of how with the help of experiment, classical means and materials one can create a new and at the same time visually expressive form. So, the paintings of Ihor Melnyk demonstrate not only the interpretation of traditions, but also the subtle sense and application of modern principles of creating forms and technical execution.
The artist’s artworks reproduce endless immersion in creative search, self-knowledge, unleashing the potential of various innovative techniques, experiments with a combination of traditions and a subtle interweaving of modern principles of image creation.
