The creative path of Halyna Kyrylenko-Barannikova is a long and fruitful one. She is a participant of more than 100 art exhibitions, numerous open-airs. Her arworks are in many museums of Ukraine, in art galleries in Europe, USA, Canada, South Korea. Halyna is an integral, developed creative person with her own style of painting, with her recognizable style, which can be described as “romantic realism”. Russian by nationality, she was born in Turkmenistan, and later moved to Ukraine and studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, in the workshop of the national artist V.Shatalin.

As the artist says, “... Turkmenistan gave me its amazing color, Russia - spiritual sources, and Ukraine - the school of painting, the creative environment and the opportunity to realize myself. I try to preserve the originality of each of these cultures, which gave me unlimited source of inspiration."

The artist's amazing style is based on the contour plastic of the lines, on the complex coloring, on the semantic fullness. Flower still lifes are a great inspiration for the artist. Depicting huge bouquets with small daisies, bells and cornflowers, she finds particular inspiration in these wildflowers, creates a rich composition, filling the canvas to the brim with flowers, leaves, flexible stems and berries. Artworks look expressive and very poetic. Also generous in color and compositional fullness of the still lifes with luxurious bouquets of lilac and other flowers.

All the paintings seem airy because of the light color gamut, in some places a little enhanced, because of the light style of the painting, reminiscent of watercolor.

Numerous landscapes with rural huts, churches, in particular, artworks dedicated to Sedniv are poetic and beautiful in composition. Over the years, Sedniv has become the favorite creative place of the artist, whose special atmosphere has always inspired her. Halyna Kyrylenko-Barannikova masterfully conveys the unusual hilly relief and coziness of this small town in her genre paintings, drawing with graphic virtuosity groups of trees, huts, human figures, drawing them into a single mystical rhythm, a twisting spin.

In the paintings of Halyna there is always a delicate interpretation of every detail, its figurative graphic solution. So, in the canvases dedicated to the old Kyiv - St. Andrew’s Descent, views of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra - has its own special rhythm, smooth and unhurried. On them, time seemes frozen. Each tree, each structure in these large-scale panoramas plays an important role. A certain color gamut even more collects the image into a whole, enhances the image.

Halyna is a skillful colorist, which helps her to create exquisitely colored, emotionally filled artworks: melancholic pastel winter landscapes and bright juicy sea views.
