About myself and my artworks

Anna Kolos is an impressionist. She is an amazingly lyrical and positive artist who sees the world only in bright colors.

Her paintings are characterized by color mosaics, reflecting the beauty and diversity of the world. She is able to snatch a stunning moment, which the eye barely catches, and which she leaves on the canvas, as a moment of the highest harmony, giving it feelings and subtle vibrations.

Anna Kolos continues the tradition of her grandfather, the world-famous artist-boychist Serhii Kolos.

Rich creative traditions, the artist obtained from her grandfather the famous artist-boichukist Serhii Kolos, and studying at the Academy in the graphic design department, formed a good basis for artist formation. Her interest extends to different genres: landscape, city landscape, still life and plot compositions. Most of Anna Kolos' paintings are dedicated to her native city Kyiv. These fleeting, piercingly bright moments of the life of the city are now rainy, then illuminated by the electric light of the night, then wrapped in golden foliage. Characteristically, these streets are deserted, only a female silhouette with a dog or a silhouette of a couple can be seen. With such a presentation, the contemplative portrait of the city looks very symbolic. The color scale of landscapes is bright, saturated, where colorful strokes actively shape the sky, asphalt, houses and trees.

Noteworthy is a series of still lifes with flowers. They are solved in a decorative impressionistic style, where the background is often conditional, and the flowers and leaves fill the whole format of the canvas with the color mass, vibrating and shining with light. The color range is active, and still-lifes look like a festive fireworks, causing vivid emotions.

The attention of the artist to the synthesis of various styles was due to the search for a vivid image, correlated with the poetics of symbolism, the search for decorative rhythm and the questions of stylization. So, Anna Kolos paints a portrait of the city, or a portrait of a flower, or a female image in the form of stylistically resolved silhouettes, framed by elegant stylized ornaments. These are such paintings as Kyiv Modern, Nymph, Cat, Malva, etc.

Anna Kolos is an artist looking for new stylistic forms that stand in close connection with the basic ideological concept of the painting. In the conscious finding of compositional decisions, depending on the task set by the artist, her creative attitude to the world is manifested.
