About myself and my artworks

Mykola Kocherzhuk works in the field of oil and acrylic painting, graphics.

The source of Mykola Kocherzhuk painting is street art, which, with its monumentality, urbanism and free expression of ideas, conquered him. The need to supplement the provincial space and through art to interact with the public has become a stimulus to the artist and the daily aspirations to technically improve, create new sketches, the best of which subsequently grew into graffiti on the wall. In the process of cognition, the graphic expression was developed.

Thus, art led the painter to the need to become a professional, to develop communicative and own manner of reflection in painting. Plein air environment became a delight of Mykola Kocherzhuk, which made it possible to interact directly with nature and to be part of it.

KyivGallery Art Critic Art critic's review 13/12/2018

The landscapes of Mykola Kocherzhuk rush into the consciousness of the viewer with colorful impressions full of bright emotions. Transient, barely perceptible states of nature froze on the artist's canvases: changeability of cloudy autumn days, the transience of scarlet sunsets, the calm of lilac twilight. On canvases appear majestic mountains, wide valleys, but sometimes even a lone bush can be for the artist the subject of admiring inspiration. Being a painter of the Western Ukrainian school of painting, he, however, stands out from a number of its representatives by great expressiveness and restrained color.

The master feels the color incredibly subtly, conveying the finest gradations, then using a hue that is close to real, then exaggerating, bringing it to the peak of saturation, glowing feelings. Color for the artist is the main means of expressing the states of nature. The artist builds the coloring of some artworks literally in two shades, however they are very precisely adjusted, they sound self-sufficient and create an absolutely complete image. He puts light, but energetic, almost weightless strokes, one on top of the other, creating a feeling of vibrating space, constant movement and changeability. Successfully combining graphics and painting, the master often uses a line and a spot, achieving an amazing depth and expressiveness of the image.

The artist's ability to capture such expressive unique moments admires you and looking at the landscapes of Mykola Kocherzhuk, you are immersed in the reverent contemplative state of trembling before nature and its changing temper.
