This is a project about the feeling of the body, 10 women, 10 expressive, beautiful sexual bodies. The women in these drawings are naturally, unique and immediate. Some drawings are realistic, others are more abstract, closer to Suprematism. The issue of female sexuality is quite acutely perceived by society (especially in post-Soviet countries). Until now, women tend to suppress their physicality, sexuality, beauty, and unfortunately, society, social networks increase the pressure. These drawings are about self-acceptance, about beauty alone with yourself. The drawings are inspired by Suprematism, Abstractionism, Expressionism, Fauvism, namely Egon Schiele, Kazimierz Malewicz, mostly avant-garde in conjunction with Expressionism.
Mariia Drozdova works in such techniques as painting, graphics, collage (analog, digital), photography, performance, computer graphics, icon painting, installation . The artist paints her whole life (for she remembers herself).
After receiving an academic education, Mariia works both in the classical areas of art and creates projects in the field of modern art, and believes that versatility, creative experimentation and love for her creativity are important for the artist.
The artist tries not to limit the work with any specific techniques or trends, if possible she tries something new, but at the same time she prefers symbolic art. In her paintings Mariia Drozdova unites the emotional and analytical approach.
