Olha Laptieva paints in a realistic manner and very organically uses stylistics and pictorial techniques, borrowed from watercolor painting.
Her broad manner of painting, just like in watercolors, is filled with air and light. Colorful streams, resemble watercolor painting on wet, create the impression of some kind of understatement, incompleteness. A liquid current paint is a winning technique when the artist wants to convey the lightness of the air, the elusive play of glare, reflexes and shadows, then condensing, then enveloping an easy veil. This vision of the world, bathed in streams of light, a breeze, a world sparkling and smiling, reveals the artist's subtly sensitive soul.
Olha Laptieva is also a wonderful colorist. The main part of her paintings is still life with flowers. A rich color palette in the neighborhood with smooth broad strokes creates pictures-moods - tulips of spring, bathed in a flow of colors or melancholic-calm autumn, mysterious, flickering in the blue twilight.
