About myself and my artworks

Iryna Stoliarova is a bright and notable artist of a new generation of avant-garde artists.

In the avant-garde style, there are many different trends, and in her active creative search Iryna tries various forms of the embodiment of her ideas. In a number of paintings she resorts to a planar image with active graphic elements, there is a certain tendency towards schematism, bright color decorativeness.

In Iryna Stoliarova's paintings is guessed the plastic series and graphic poster peculiar to paintings of the Ukrainian avant-garde classic Olexandra Exter. A deliberate distortion of proportions, asymmetry in the faces of the characters makes them similar to the images of Pablo Picasso.

The artist Iryna Stoliarova has the most interesting series of paintings: "Odessa wedding", "Meet life", "Blue dreams", "Tango for dachshund". In these paintings the plastic series changes, details appear, objects are rounded, they acquire volume and emotional coloring. Characters look real and human. And at the same time there is not real, but fantastic world. For example, "Blue Dreams" painting shows a guy and a girl fly over the city on a huge blue cat, and the houses and trees below look like elements of a large colored mosaic.

And in the painting "Odessa wedding" only the girl looks real, and her surrounding space is a phantasmagoria from colored broken planes and disproportionately large, massive birds. Such monumentality and decorativeness also determine the stylistic orientation of the painting "Tango for Dachshund", interesting with its dizzying composition, when the viewer observes what is happening simultaneously from several angles: from under the ceiling and standing on the floor. There is a dissonance, the opposition of the characters depicted and the surfaces on which they are located. These different planes are painted in contrasting colors and create a moving color medium. A man and a woman dancing tango opposite to these inverted planes, which intensifies the tension of the story.

The color palette of the artist is built on bright juicy colors and instead of colorful strokes there is interaction of color planes.

A completely different qualitative transition is performed by Iryna in a series of paintings "The Sixth Muse", "The Cola", "The Monkeys Are Silent", "The End of the Pioneer Song", etc. This is a step towards conceptual art, when the idea takes precedence, dominating the picture, and a picturesque row. Now paintings from the field of decorativeness pass into the air reality, characters and objects acquire a tangible volume. The color scheme becomes more calm, the color transitions are softer, but this air medium still remains from another reality. This reality excites the viewer with an unusual set: a heap of various objects, signs, people, an unusual interpretation of everyday things. So, in painting "The Cola" in a single symbiosis merged several narrative realities. In one - a boy walks in a mask of teddybear cub, the other - invades huge cans of Coca-Cola, overturned cups and bar codes, and the third - rolls a fragment of the road with a prohibiting road sign. Such paintings are not directed at the sensory sphere, but rather makes you think, connect the intuitive and associative sphere, invigorate, sharpen the perception. The painting "The Sixth Muse" also presents a visual-associative puzzle, and "Talented Hands" - a colorful idea in the form of bright blue hands of the character. And the rest of the paintings of this series has a peculiar paradox and unexpectedness.
